Global Cyber University and Azone Tech Sign Industry-Contracted Education Agreement
Seoul-( Newswire )- Global Cyber University AI Convergence Department Head Seok Gwang-ho and Azone Tech CEO Chae Min-seok signed an industry-commissioned education agreement (MOU) on November 8.
At the signing ceremony, the two organizations agreed to jointly develop an AI convergence education curriculum to foster excellent talent tailored to industrial sites and jointly conduct AI and metaverse research and projects through industry-academia cooperation. They also agreed to mutually cooperate in establishing a plan to jointly develop and operate courses for industry-academia customized on-demand education.
Through this agreement, employees of Azone Tech who enroll or transfer to Global Cyber University will receive a 50% discount on tuition each semester, and will also be given tuition reduction benefits such as a refund of the application fee after the end of the recruitment process and a full exemption of the admission fee.
Azone Tech is a company specializing in developing defense software, and is carrying out national strategic defense projects together with Hanwha Systems. It is a defense SW development company headquartered in Daegu and spun off from Samsung Thales in 2010. It develops and supplies various defense SW, including combat systems and simulation SW for the Aegis ship, Jangbogo-Ⅲ, Cheolmae-Ⅱ, LPH-Ⅱ, FFX-Ⅲ, KF-X AESA radar, and modular common platforms. Based on its defense SW know-how, it possesses service technology that can be applied to various fields of business in the civilian sector, such as bio-signals, object authentication, and hardware integration operation.
Currently, we are providing integrated image-based healthcare solutions to local governments and are carrying out various national projects such as developing metaverse, AR/VR, and AI-based integrated platforms. In addition, we are steadily expanding our R&D investment to secure core technologies in promising future fields.
The AI Convergence Department of Global Cyber University (President Seung-Heon Lee) is the first AI department in a domestic 4-year cyber university, and is a regular 4-year university that is approved by the Ministry of Education and offers a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
Meanwhile, the AI Convergence Department will be promoted to the AI Future Convergence Department starting in the 2023 academic year, and will operate three major tracks: ‘AI Computer Information and Communication, AI Metaverse Convergence, and AI Real Life Convergence’ to enable convergent education in the field of new technologies for the 4th Industrial Revolution based on core theories and knowledge education of computer engineering to foster ‘AI+X’ talents.
The ‘AI Computer Information and Communication’ major track trains ICT experts with both basic engineering knowledge as engineers and the ability to adapt to practical work in the field.
The ‘AI Metaverse Convergence’ major track trains metaverse experts with the ability to adapt to and acquire practical skills to lead the global future convergence society utilizing metaverse technology, and the ‘AI Real-Life Convergence’ major track trains AI real-life convergence experts with the ability to lead field learning guidance to lead the new technology education of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The program is scheduled to be implemented in 2023 to support strengthening the capabilities of after-school teachers related to artificial intelligence and metaverse.
The curriculum is structured into basic, advanced, and application stages based on theory and practice, and a customized curriculum is operated so that anyone can easily understand and learn regardless of age, gender, or major.
The AI Convergence Department at Global Cyber University conducts all classes, exams, and assignments 100% online, and has top-notch professors and instructors with expertise in new technologies related to the 4th Industrial Revolution. And students ranging in age from their 20s to their 70s are learning to adapt to future changes brought about by AI and the metaverse.
