“Protect the safety of old buildings” Gyeongbuk ‘industry, academia, and research’ put their heads together

The Gyeongbuk region’s ‘industry, academia, and research’ have put their heads together to manage the safety of private buildings.

Six organizations, including Gyeongbuk Province, Pohang City, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Korea Construction Living Environment Testing and Research Institute, and research and development companies DS Tech and Azone Tech, recently held a workshop at the conference hall of the Suseong Hotel in Daegu.

This event was held to review the first year’s performance of ‘Development of AloT-based Facility Safety Management Platform Technology’ and share business plans for next year.

These organizations had in-depth discussions on developing a system that can respond immediately when a building hazard occurs and providing technical support during on-site safety inspections.

“The platform under development is being created through the convergence of core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, so we are trying to differentiate it from existing systems,” said Park Cheon-deok, CEO of DS Tech, who is in charge of the research. “We are doing our best to make it an innovative system.”

The ‘AloT-based facility safety management platform’ is a platform that collects and analyzes data from smart sensors attached to facilities using AloT (AI+loT, intelligent Internet of Things) to support safety inspections of aging facilities and enable immediate response to accidents and risks.
